Monday Meeting: The Flu Had Me

Lots of things get in the way of getting writing done. Most of the time, it's me. Last week, it was the flu. And I really don't think it is accurate to say that I had the flu. The flu had me.

But, I have wrestled it to the ground, reclaimed some control (perhaps imaginary) over my life, and I'm back to plugging along on my WIP.

So, let's just do a straight up Monday Meeting today.

My goals: To read through to the end of what I have so far for my wip and put in the new plot points, and make necessary changes. To start writing forward, and really make headway.

I would also love to get out and visit some blogs this week.

So, tell me, what are your writing goals? And, what are you blogging about? Leave a link so we can all come see!

Is it possible that I got the flu from my cats? They sneezed on me quite a bit last week.

Also, I would love it if you would stop by on here on Friday and give Anna a big high five. We're talking about her debut book, MY VERY UNFAIRY TALE LIFE, which will be out in November. So soon! I'm so excited!

  1. The flu isn't fun. I'm assuming you're feeling better now? My writing goal this week is to think about plot. Very vague and yet doable.

  3. Alicia--SO NOT FUN. I am feeling better, thanks! I love your goal. I did lots of delirious plot thinking during my flu bout. :)

Sheri--Thanks for the luck! I'll need it. I hope you have a great writing week.

  5. Glad you're feeling better! It is so frustrating being sick. It just seems like such a huge waste of time!

I recently finished a round of revisions, so my next goal is to do...something else. Not sure what!

  7. I think the fact that you posted a Monday Meeting on its namesake is a huge feat for you!

I am glad you're feeling better. It sucked not making a connection with you for such a long time. Can you imagine if we were writing partners in the Victorian era?

  8. I thought I'd get so much writing done now that the kids are in school, but I took a 1/2 day job and I have so many errands and appts I haven't written in my wip in weeks!
No wip goal this week (though I hope to write a little). But next week I go to FL with my girlfriends and I'm bringing a workbook to help me with my wip.
I'm glad you are feeling better, Heather!

  9. Anna--I'm definitely feeling better. Not 100%, but so much better! Now go revise! :)

Becky--So frustrating. SO much time lost. But nothing to be done about it. I hope you find a new something to do--congrats on getting done with your revisions!!

Lindsay--It doesn't bode well that the flu already ran through our house. It's going to be a long winter (I say on September what?) Good luck with the WIP!

J--Your comment made me laugh out loud. That's a good start to the week--Monday is just where it is supposed to be. :)
