'P' is for kaPUT

In Hawaii, we visited some LOST beaches. Darned if I know which one this was.

So, I have struggled and failed with the whole publish-a-blog-post-a-day thing. I gave it the old college try, and I'm officially throwing in the towel. Phew. Peanuts for those prolifics who can post prose each day. I bow to you!!

I am not sure what the protocol is here--for me to graciously peter out--but I am going to leave my link to other A-to-Zers on my blogroll, since I'm still supporting those going strong.

And now for my Tuesday Monday Meeting:

I'm going fast and furious on my rewrite, and hoping to connect with a few crit partners this week. I love skype! I am fending off a Shiny New Idea (although it's dark and gruesome. Why is it that when I'm writing my MG fantasy, do I always get ideas for dark and dystopic YAs? Yin and yang, I suppose). I hope to let the S.N.I.simmer for a few months before getting sidetracked.

I am even thinking self-imposed deadline to hurry this rewrite along.

So, now it's your turn. What are you working on? Do you have goals for the week? Do you have children underfoot for their spring vacation?? Are you actually A-to-Zing? Which LOST beach do you think that is?

  1. That's great your rewrite is coming along! And my ideas come like yours. One is humorous and light and my next is darker and more literary. I guess our brains like change!

  2. When I'm at my MFA residencies, I always want to write what everyone else is writing. Even Romance looks good, and I'm not into it at all (as a genre). Don't know the beach, but pretty!

  3. That's great your revisions are going fast. Better that you work on that rather than positing everyday. I think I've nailed the voice in my manuscript so am going to really work on the revisions to my manuscript too.

  4. It's great that your rewrites are moving along. I'm also rewriting--but it's pretty much fits and starts for me. Hoping to get a more consistent flow going.

Can't tell which beach, but how cool that you got to be there. I'm betting Sawyer, Sayid and Jin walked there.

  5. A) I don't thing "revision" and "hurry along" should be used in the same sentence. But, since I know you and will be reading said revisions soon, I'll let that slide.

    B) My writing goal is to work on Sasquatch Eleanor...but yeah. I will do it. I have to for Kelly. And for Anita. And for me...

    C) I'd imagine part of the reason that is a 'lost beach' is because no one can remember its name.

  6. Don't give up all together, if you feel the urge, post on that day's letter...if not, don't, that's OK too!! Found you from the A-Z Challenge, I’m now following you on GFC and I hope you have a chance to check out my blog!

  7. Good Lord, a post a day? It's enough to do it three times a week. Don't stress youself.

Good luck with the reVISION : )

I am doing the same and applying some awesome plotting stuff I learned from Holly Black at the WW SCBWI conf this past weekend. Really feel inspired to dig in or dig out (of the rut).

    Good luck to you all!!

  8. a post-a-day sounds like such a good, get-those-creative-juices-flowing idea. until you actually try to do it. at my personal blog i tried doing so once or twice and despite having a month's worth of topic ideas already mapped out, the time, energy and, sadly, the interest in sustaining the idea fell way short.

i'm waiting to hear back on THE BOOK and have started work on revisions to BOOK TWO. as i wrote over at my writing blog, it's a chunk of work to revise BOOK TWO to THE BOOK standards (including more than doubling the page length) and i'm still at a loss for how to do it.

good luck with your revision deadlines!

  9. Sometimes it's better to take care of yourself and discontinue something you're not able to give your all into. I'm sure there will be other challenges to come your way that you'll be able to tackle.

It is a pleasure to meet you from the A-Z Challenge even if you haven't been able to continue onward!

  10. I love that you're writing MG fantasy. We'll get along famously. And hurray for trying. The A-Z blogpost really is insanely time consuming. I'm going to finish it for sure, but I'll be relieved when I can go back to my regular twice a week posting schedule.
Great meeting you through the A-Z!

  11. My problem is keeping up with all the posts, I gave up on the challenge a while ago. Afraid I had to return to my novel. :0)
